It began in 2009, with a small ambition to supply dolomite to the Malaysian government’s agriculture sector to supplement for the GML (Ground Magnesium Limestone) supply. The problem was with the excessive usage of GML which resulted in farm lands starting to harden which will eventually affect output to the main economy contributors of Malaysia. From there, we moved on to supply dolomite directly to palm oil plantations. Eventually our dolomite slowly came into demand by other major fertilizer companies to use as fertilizer composition. Operations remained small at delivery of 500 to 1,000 metric tonnes a month through a mine located in Chuping, Perlis. This area is well resourced with an abundance of minerals left untapped and mined by a small operator which still exists today. Over time demand for the dolomite became larger and the current operator couldn’t supply which leading to RD Minerals in acquiring a land of 55 acres out of 760 acres of land to mine from under the concessionaire of Koperasi Felda Rimba Mas. After the acquisition, in 2011, RD Minerals built a small sized factory. Our customer base was expanded to the industrial sector, where steel industries and glass manufacturers have a need for our dolomite. RD Minerals has since invested in factory facilities that is able to support production output up to 10,000 metric tonnes a month. Today, RD Minerals is the largest dolomite producer for both agriculture and industrial sectors in Malaysia.
