Pros: You get solid job security, which is good for new grads. The benefits package is decent, and they offer a hybrid work model. As a Junior Software Engineer, I learned a lot about process and working on government contracting projects, which is unique.
Cons: Career progression felt really slow in the Ottawa, ON office. It's hard to move up without a lot of internal networking. For entry-level tech roles, there aren't many clear paths to senior positions. The corporate environment can feel a bit stagnant, especially regarding new technologies.
Advice to Management: Management should invest more in defined career ladders for technical roles, especially for those in IT services. Offer more internal training for new skills to keep up with industry trends.

Pros: They offer a hybrid model in the Ottawa office, which is a good start. As a Project Manager, I've had decent autonomy to manage my own tasks, especially on less client-facing days. It's a solid choice if you're in IT consulting and prefer a mix of WFH and office time.
Cons: The WFH flexibility isn't always as smooth as it could be; sometimes it feels like they track office days too much. For complex IT projects, it can be tough coordinating teams when everyone's on different schedules. I think they could trust employees more for full remote options where roles allow.
Advice to Management: Consider loosening up the hybrid model rules. Trust your Project Managers and other IT consulting staff to manage their work effectively, regardless of whether they're in the office or remote. More flexibility would boost morale.

Pros: The health benefits package is really good, covers a lot of things. You also get a decent amount of vacation time, which is nice. For a mid-sized company focused on federal contracts, the job security is pretty solid too.
Cons: Base salary for a Software Developer isn't competitive with big tech firms in Ottawa. Raises are usually minimal, so don't expect huge jumps. It's tough to negotiate higher pay, even with good performance reviews.
Advice to Management: Review compensation scales for IT roles, especially for experienced Software Developers in the Ottawa area. Being more competitive would attract and retain top talent.
