Pros: The benefits package at SER Limited is genuinely good. We get decent health insurance and a 401k match, which isn't always a given in a mid-sized tech company. As a Junior Software Engineer, I appreciated the comprehensive coverage, it felt pretty secure.
Cons: Pay here for software development roles could definitely be more competitive, especially for London. My base salary felt a bit low compared to market rates. There's also not a lot of transparency around salary bands, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Management should really review the salary bands for all roles, especially for software engineers. More transparency on pay progression would help with retention too.

Pros: I've been working remotely from Manchester for a while now, and the WFH setup is solid. As a Software Engineer, I appreciate not needing to commute every day; it's a big plus for work-life balance. They don't micromanage your hours, which is nice.
Cons: While remote work is an option, true flexibility with project deadlines can be tough. Sometimes, there's a push for specific office days for "collaboration" for hybrid folks, which feels a bit forced. I wish there was more trust in asynchronous work for software development.
Advice to Management: Focus on trusting remote teams more with project delivery. Re-evaluate mandatory "collaboration" days for hybrid roles; they don't always add value.

Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is pretty decent, especially if you're early career. They also have a good pension scheme which is a nice plus. The health insurance package is also standard and covers the basics.
Cons: Annual raises aren't huge, so it's tough to keep up with inflation. Bonuses are almost non-existent for most dev roles, which is a bummer. Other enterprise software companies in London offer more competitive total compensation.
Advice to Management: Management should seriously review the compensation structure, especially for experienced Software Engineers. Better bonuses or more significant annual raises would really help with retention in the competitive London market for data management roles.
