Logistics Coordinator

Okay flexibility for corporate, tough for retail operations
Pros: As a Logistics Coordinator in the corporate environment, I definitely appreciated the hybrid model. I could WFH a couple days a week which helped my work-life balance a lot. This kind of flexibility is solid for a big box retailer.
Cons: However, for those on the front lines in stores or distribution, work flexibility is basically non-existent. Schedules are super rigid for those retail roles, making it hard to adjust your hours. It felt like two different companies sometimes.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to offer more flexibility to all team members, not just those in corporate roles. It would really help boost morale across the entire company, especially for the supply chain teams.

Pay is solid for retail, benefits are okay
Pros: As a Team Member at this big box store, the hourly wage is actually decent. The $15/hour minimum is pretty good for retail in Chicago. You do get a 401k match and some health options, which is a plus for an hourly role.
Cons: However, getting enough consistent hours to really make good money can be tough, especially outside of the holiday season. Health insurance can be pricey if you need really good coverage, and paid time off isn't super generous for part-timers.
Advice to Management: Try to ensure more consistent hours for Team Members who want them. Exploring more affordable health plan options for hourly staff would also be a big win for morale and retention.

Executive Team Leader

Leadership Varies a Lot Here
Pros: Some store leaders are really supportive. They genuinely want you to succeed as an Executive Team Leader. You learn a lot about retail operations from the good ones, which is great for career growth in the industry.
Cons: It's tough when you get a bad manager; it feels common in corporate retail. Communication from district leadership can be spotty, especially in our Chicago, IL location. There's also pretty high turnover in some leadership roles.
Advice to Management: Invest more in leadership training for all levels, especially for new hires stepping into management. Ensure consistent expectations across different stores and regions. Try to retain good leaders with better career pathing and support to reduce turnover.
