RNA Engineering & Trading was established in 1975. RNA is the leading refrigeration wholesaler in Malaysia and includes Danfoss, Emerson and Thermal-Matic among its important brands. RNA not only provides the customers with most of the refrigeration components but also finished refrigeration equipment such as condensing unit, evaporator, air-conditioning cooling coils and heating coils.

RNA Engineering & Trading was acquired by Beijer Ref's joint-venture company B Grimm in Thailand. Beijer Ref is one of the largest refrigeration and air-conditioning wholesaling companies in the world, which is listed on the Stockholm exchange. It has a presence in 32 countries and is the largest wholesaler in Europe, looking at increasing its presence in Asia.

Stable Role with Great Learning Opportunities

Pros: I've been a Sales & Technical Support Engineer here for a while, and it's a pretty solid place to work in the industrial engineering and trading sector. There are good opportunities to learn about different industrial equipment and processes, which is great for professional development. My colleagues are super helpful, always ready to share knowledge and support each other, making for a really collaborative environment. It feels stable, which is important in this industry.
Cons: Sometimes the internal approval processes can feel a bit slow, which can occasionally impact project timelines or customer responses. While the workload is generally manageable, there are peak periods where things get quite busy, but that's pretty standard for our industry. It's not a major issue, just something to be aware of.
Advice to Management: Streamlining some of the internal approval workflows could definitely help improve efficiency and response times for both project execution and client interactions. This would benefit everyone. Show more

Pretty stable for engineering projects

Pros: For a Project Engineer, the job security feels pretty decent. We usually have a steady flow of engineering projects. They don't typically do big layoffs, which is good in the current market, especially in Kuala Lumpur.
Cons: However, I've seen some turnover, particularly in the trading sector. Sometimes it feels like there isn't much upward mobility, which can make you wonder about long-term career security here. Raises aren't huge either.
Advice to Management: Focus on developing clearer career paths for employees beyond just the project level. That would help with retention. Show more
