Decent Pay, Benefits Need a Refresh
Pros: The base salary for a Hardware Engineer in the Tokyo office was pretty solid. It felt competitive for an established corporate firm. You get regular bonuses, which is a nice perk in the electronics industry, and job security is definitely a plus.
Cons: However, the overall benefits package felt a bit behind. Health insurance was just standard, nothing special. Retirement contributions aren't amazing, especially compared to what I've seen at other tech companies. Don't expect many extra perks beyond the basics.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the benefits package to be more competitive, especially for attracting top engineering talent. Modernize retirement options to keep pace with the industry.

Solid Base Pay, Standard Benefits for Engineers
Pros: The base salary is pretty solid, especially for an established Japanese firm like this. You can count on getting decent annual bonuses too, which is a nice perk in the semiconductor equipment industry. It's stable work, financially speaking.
Cons: Annual raises aren't huge, and they're often more tied to company performance than individual effort in the Tokyo office. Benefits are just okay; they don't really stand out compared to other global tech companies. For a Hardware Engineer, I feel the total compensation could be more competitive.
Advice to Management: Look at making compensation more competitive, especially for experienced engineering roles. Better individual performance incentives would help motivation.
