Okay for construction, but don't expect full WFH
Pros: The team is generally supportive, and you learn a lot about large-scale infrastructure projects. It's good exposure for your career in the EPC sector. There's a solid pathway if you stick it out, especially if you're keen on site work.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough with site hours. Don't expect a lot of work-from-home options as a Project Engineer; it's mostly onsite in NSW or the Sydney office. The hybrid model is more 'hybrid-mandatory-office' than truly flexible.
Advice to Management: Look into more flexible arrangements for non-site-critical roles. A true hybrid model could boost morale and retention.

Work-life balance is okay, but project dependent
Pros: You can find some flexibility if you manage your projects well. The team usually has your back, which is good when deadlines hit. As a Project Engineer, I've had some success with hybrid work, which definitely helps.
Cons: But project deadlines mean long hours are pretty common, especially for those in onsite construction roles at the Sydney office. It's tough to truly switch off when client demands are constant. Your work-life balance takes a hit during peak times in this large corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Try to implement clearer boundaries for project timelines and encourage teams to truly disconnect outside of core hours, especially for those in construction and engineering roles.

Project Coordinator

Work-Life Balance is Okay, Depends on Your Project
Pros: Some projects let you keep pretty normal hours. As a Project Coordinator in the Sydney office, I appreciated the hybrid model offered. It's nice not to be in every day.
Cons: Other projects, especially in heavy industry, demand a lot more. You can easily work 50-60 hour weeks, and weekend work isn't uncommon for critical construction projects. This can really impact your personal life.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize workload expectations across all projects. Support Project Coordinators more when projects become high-intensity, especially in critical construction industry phases.
