Pros: You can usually hit your 40-hour weeks if you manage your territory well. For sales roles, there's decent autonomy, so I didn't feel constantly micromanaged. Some flexibility if you need to run an errand.
Cons: Client demands can make work-life balance tough, especially with unexpected onsite visits for key accounts. There's pressure to hit quotas, which sometimes means longer days, even after hours. Don't expect much WFH if you're in the field.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage client expectations and provide more support for Account Managers to reduce after-hours work. More admin help could free up time.

Pros: Work flexibility here is pretty solid for a large company. As a remote Inside Sales Representative, I really valued being able to set my own schedule within reason. It helped a lot with personal appointments and avoiding a daily commute.
Cons: Sometimes you're expected to be available past normal business hours, especially with urgent customer needs for industrial gases. It can eat into your personal time. Management talks about flexibility but still pushes strict metrics and call times.
Advice to Management: Really commit to true flexibility instead of just saying it. Empower remote teams more and ease up on some of the strict hourly metrics. It'd boost morale.

Pros: I liked the autonomy you got in outside sales. Once you built your client base for industrial gas and welding supplies, you largely managed your own schedule. The benefits package was pretty solid too, especially for a big corporate environment.
Cons: Leadership was often disconnected from what was happening on the ground for us Account Managers. Decisions sometimes felt arbitrary, and there wasn't always clear communication from regional management. It's tough when you're trying to meet sales targets without consistent support.
Advice to Management: Listen more to the Account Managers in the field. We know what customers need and how to sell industrial gas effectively. Better communication from regional leadership would really help morale.
