Company Reviews

Great Place to Learn and Grow in Industrial Operations
Pros: Working as a Process Engineer in this manufacturing company has been a solid experience. The team collaboration is fantastic, and I've gained valuable technical knowledge from senior engineers. It’s a stable environment with interesting projects that challenge my problem-solving skills, and management is generally supportive.
Cons: Career advancement can feel a bit slow due to the company's size and structure. The approval processes can sometimes be lengthy, and some older systems make certain tasks less efficient than they could be.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal approval processes to accelerate project execution and employee career progression.

Hoogovens: Work-Life Is Mostly Okay
Pros: It's pretty solid for a Process Engineer; I usually get my 40 hours done and go home. You're mostly free evenings and weekends, which is rare in heavy industry sometimes. Good for family life.
Cons: Don't expect much work flexibility here; it's an onsite role in the IJmuiden plant. Big projects in steel manufacturing mean crunch time, so work-life balance can tank for a few weeks then. It's a large industrial company, so things move slow.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexible work options for non-plant-critical roles to attract modern talent.

Leadership is Okay, But Needs to Be More Proactive
Pros: Some senior managers in the steel industry are genuinely supportive. They let us Process Engineer roles tackle tough problems. You often get a lot of autonomy if you prove yourself.
Cons: Decision-making can be really slow. It often feels like management avoids tough calls until it's too late. There isn't much recognition for extra effort.
Advice to Management: Encourage faster decision-making and empower team leads more. Recognize individual contributions, it goes a long way for morale.
