Clinical Research Coordinator

Hybrid model helps, but workload is tough sometimes
Pros: The hybrid work model is a huge plus; it lets me balance home life better. For Clinical Research Coordinator roles, having that flexibility makes a big difference. I appreciate the decent PTO.
Cons: But the actual workload in this biotech industry can be a lot. It's common to work past 5 PM, especially with project deadlines. It impacts your evenings sometimes.
Advice to Management: Managers should really look into the workload for Clinical Research Coordinator teams. It's tough to maintain work-life balance when deadlines always push late nights.

Decent Flexibility, But Room to Improve
Pros: As a Clinical Research Coordinator, I've appreciated the hybrid work option here. We typically get two remote days a week, which is pretty solid for the medical device industry. It helps a lot with balancing personal life and commuting into the Boston office.
Cons: The actual work flexibility can really depend on your manager and specific team. It's tough if you have a lot of onsite lab duties; those roles get less remote time. Also, there's not much wiggle room on start/end times.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize work-from-home policies across different teams and roles in the medical device industry. More predictable flexibility would be a huge boost for morale.

Okay culture, but room for improvement
Pros: My immediate team is great. People genuinely help each other, especially for new hires getting into clinical trials work. The Boston office facilities are decent, making the daily commute okay.
Cons: Upper management feels pretty disconnected from the day-to-day for us. There's often a lack of clear communication about company direction, which impacts overall company culture. Work-life balance as a Clinical Research Associate can get tough during peak project times; I've definitely had some long weeks.
Advice to Management: Try to be more transparent about company decisions that affect employees. Connect more with individual teams, maybe through regular, informal town halls. It helps a lot with morale and feeling like part of a larger mission in this corporate environment.
