Work-Life Balance is Okay, But It Depends
Pros: I liked the 'hybrid work' model; it definitely helped with commuting. The 'London office' is pretty central too. As a 'Junior Quantitative Analyst', I got decent exposure to 'capital markets' early on, which is great for career development.
Cons: Work-life balance can get tough, especially during peak deal cycles in 'investment banking'. It's not uncommon to pull 60+ hour weeks, which makes it hard to have a life outside work. There's often pressure to be available, even on weekends.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage workload distribution, especially for 'junior analysts'. Encourage taking proper breaks and disconnecting after hours to improve overall well-being. Burnout is a real concern in 'financial services'.

Decent for a Corporate Bank, Expect Long Days
Pros: The teams here are really solid, and I've learned a ton about financial modeling and market analysis. Benefits for a large financial institution are pretty good, especially health insurance.
Cons: Work-life balance is definitely a challenge as a Financial Analyst, with 60+ hour weeks being common. It's tough to have a personal life when you're always on call for projects in this corporate banking environment.
Advice to Management: Consider initiatives to better manage project workloads for junior staff to improve work-life balance, especially for those in client-facing roles.

Decent for a bank, but still demanding
Pros: Some teams actually try to respect evenings and weekends, which is a big plus for junior banking roles. They've also pushed for a more hybrid model post-pandemic, which offers a bit of flexibility. It's not always 80+ hours a week, so that's something.
Cons: The culture in the Corporate & Investment Banking division can still be pretty intense. Expect late nights during peak deal flow, and sometimes weekend work is unavoidable. You're definitely tied to your desk in the New York City office most days.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize expectations across different teams, especially around weekend work. It's tough for new analysts when one group has a much heavier load than another.
