Assistant General Manager Internal Audit
About the Client
Our client is a Hong Kong-headquartered company with global business presence. Currently they are looking for an Assistant General Manager in their Internal Audit Department.
About the Role
- Lead the development and execution of a risk‑based annual internal audit plan
- Oversee audit assignment planning, fieldwork and reporting to assess the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and governance across corporate offices and properties.
- Manage internal and external audit teams to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery of the audit plan, special reviews and advisory projects.
- Review and refine audit reports to ensure robust root‑cause analysis, practical recommendations and clear communication to senior management and Head of Internal Audit.
- Present key findings and thematic insights to senior executives, management committees and the audit committee, and support preparation of periodic stakeholder updates.
- Monitor and validate management's remediation progress, ensuring effective implementation of agreed actions and escalation of overdue items.
- Maintain and update internal audit policies, manuals and methodologies in line with professional standards and leading practices.
- Promote a strong control culture and collaborative relationships with business leaders and risk partners, leveraging data analytics and audit technology to enhance assurance.
- Support enterprise risk management initiatives and other risk‑related projects.
The Successful Applicant
- Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, Business or related disciplines, with a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA); CIA, CFE or other relevant certifications are highly regarded.
- Around 12 or more years of experience gained in large listed or multinational organisations and/or Big 4/professional services.
- Solid exposure to complex, multi‑entity environments will be an advantage.
- Proven people leader with strong project and stakeholder management skills, able to manage multiple audits in parallel and influence senior executives with sound judgement and gravitas.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative data, and adept at turning complex information into clear, concise messages for decision‑makers.
- Self‑driven, resilient and hands‑on, with high attention to detail, strong integrity and a collaborative mindset.
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
