Job Description
The Senior Manager, Business Planning and Analytics is responsible for developing and executing strategic business plans to drive growth and profitability for the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of the telecom industry as well as the international roaming and carrier market, market trends, and the competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities and optimize existing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Business Planning and Strategy:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to craft comprehensive business plans aligned with the organization's overall strategic objectives
- Develop growth strategies, including new product/service offerings, market expansion, and diversification initiatives
- Perform financial analysis and modelling to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of business plans
- Recommend resource allocation, budgeting, and investment decisions to optimize business performance
Business and Data Analytic:
- Design and implement analytical frameworks to assess business performance against strategic objectives
- Utilize data analytics tools to derive insights from large datasets and inform business strategies
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing analytical findings and strategic recommendations for stakeholders
- Conduct scenario analysis to understand potential business impacts and support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to enhance data collection processes and ensure data integrity for analysis
Performance Reporting and Continuous Improvement:
- Establish effective performance measurement systems to track the success of business plans
- Analyze and interpret performance data to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Communicate key findings and recommendations to senior management, enabling evidence-based decision-making
- Contribute to the development of best practices and the optimization of planning processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 7 years’ relevant experience in business planning, data analysis, strategic management, or consulting in the telecom industry
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful business plans that drive growth and profitability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the telecom sector is a plus
- Proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and project management tools
- Adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced environment and the ability to thrive under pressure
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge in SQL, Looker Studio is an advantage
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
