About the Role
Our client is looking for a senior leader to head a Hong Kong-based licensed asset management company. The role will oversee the firm’s asset management business, team management, business development, product execution, and regulatory responsibilities under Hong Kong SFC requirements.
This is a business-driven leadership role, not a pure RO or administrative position
Key Responsibiliti
- esLead the overall management and development of the Hong Kong asset management platform.
- Oversee SFC Type 9 regulated asset management business, including public fund / retail fund / SFC-authorised fund related activities.
- Drive business growth, product development, client/channel expansion, and AUM growth.
- Manage a team of around 20 professionals across investment, product, sales, operations, risk, and compliance.
- Ensure business operations comply with SFC regulations and internal governance standards.
- Work closely with senior management, regulators, internal teams, and external partners.
- Report to the General Manager of the corporate services division and the responsible senior executive.
Requirements
- Senior experience in Hong Kong asset management, public fund management, or licensed financial platforms.
- Strong understanding of SFC Type 9 requirements and Hong Kong asset management market.
- Experience with public funds, retail funds, SFC-authorised funds, ETFs, mutual funds, or cross-border asset management products preferred.
- Current or previous Type 9 RO experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on business experience in product launch, client development, AUM growth, or platform building.
- Team management experience is must, ideally in Chinese-funded financial institutions.
- Clear thinker, proactive, business-driven, entrepreneurial, and hands-on.
- Fluent both in Chinese and English
