Senior Application Support (Trading Systems)
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Application Support professional to provide L2/L3 production support for critical trading applications across equities, futures, and derivatives. This role is responsible for ensuring system stability, resolving incidents efficiently, and supporting front-to-back trading workflows in a fast-paced financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 production support for trading applications, ensuring high availability and performance across equities and derivatives platforms.
- Monitor systems proactively and perform regular health checks to maintain system stability.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents in a timely and efficient manner to minimize business impact.
- Support post-trade and settlement systems, ensuring smooth end-to-end trade lifecycle operations.
- Collaborate closely with development and project teams on system enhancements, releases, and upgrades.
- Develop and implement automation solutions (Python, Shell, or Bash) to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual workload.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and escalation support to L1/junior team members.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure adherence to operational best practices and standards.
Key Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in application support or production support, preferably within financial services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Shell for automation and operational tooling.
- Proven experience supporting front-to-back trading systems, including order management, execution, and post-trade workflows.
- Familiarity with monitoring and incident management tools.
- Good understanding of equities and derivatives trading, including system workflows and lifecycle.
- Experience in an investment banking or financial services environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of post-trade and settlement processes is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
