Responsibilities:
1. Infrastructure Architecture & Operations
- Design & Road map: Define and maintain the infrastructure architecture covering on‑premises servers, storage, virtualization, networking and backup / DR platforms
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and introduce practical infrastructure technologies, tools and standards to improve system availability, performance and operational efficiency
- Standards & Hardening: Establish and maintain infrastructure baseline standards, including network segmentation, security hardening, system naming conventions and monitoring
- Compliance Alignment: Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure the core infrastructure meets regulatory requirements, internal / external audits and corporate governance
2. Platform Engineering & Incident Resolution
- Core Administration: Provide strong hands-on administration, lifecycle management (patching, upgrades, decommissioning) and capacity planning for enterprise platforms:
- Windows Server and/or Linux environments
- Virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V or Nutanix)
- Directory services and identity platforms (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
- Enterprise storage (SAN / NAS) and modern backup solutions
- Troubleshooting: Lead complex incident resolution, root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective actions for major infrastructure issues
- Data Protection: Implement and optimize robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies, ensuring regular validation testing and clear documentation
3. Automation, Vendor & Project Management
- Operational Automation: Drive automation of repetitive administrative and operational tasks using scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Python or Bash)
- Vendor Management: Liaise and manage external IT vendors, system integrators, and third-party contractors to ensure deliverables and project milestones are met on schedule
- Cross-team Collaboration: Collaborate with application, DevOps and security teams to support hybrid infrastructure integration and streamline environment provisioning and deployment workflows
- Team Mentorship: Act as a technical leader and escalation point for the infrastructure team, providing guidance, coaching and technical quality reviews
Requirements:
1. Education & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; Equivalent practical experience will also be highly considered
- Typically 7-8+ years of solid experience in system administration / infrastructure engineering, with a proven track record in operating or implementing mid-to-large scale enterprise environments
- Prior exposure to 24/7 high-availability operations (such as Logistics, Manufacturing, Aviation or Banking environments) is highly preferred
- Experience in a senior, lead or mentor role within an infrastructure team is an advantage
- Candidate with less experience will be considered as Senior System Administrator
2. Technical Skills – Core
- Strong practical expertise in Windows Server and/or Linux administration
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware or equivalent) and enterprise storage / backup technologies
- Solid understanding of directory services (Active Directory), Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
- Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (Routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs) from an infrastructure perspective
- Proficiency in scripting for administrative automation (e.g. PowerShell, Python or Bash)
- Strong analytical, documentation and troubleshooting abilities under high-pressure scenarios
3. Technical Skills – Nice to Have
- Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure / AWS), especially in hybrid infrastructure or migration scenarios
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform) or configuration management tooling
- Basic understanding of infrastructure readiness or resource optimization for AI / ML workloads (GPU setups, specialized networking)
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g. VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSE / AZ-104, Cisco CCNA / CCNP, ITIL)
