Finance serves as a strategic business partner to the Directors and senior management of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited, playing a pivotal role in delivering timely financial reporting and insightful analysis that drives effective, well-informed decision-making.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations while providing support for ad-hoc analysis. Beyond core responsibilities, you will actively contribute to and participate in various finance related enhancement initiatives, helping to shape a more efficient and forward-looking function.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse the financial performance of the Group, reconcile financial discrepancies, and summarise financial information for all aspects of reporting received from portfolio companies for inclusion in the Jardine Matheson consolidated results.
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly management accounts, forecast, budget, statutory accounts, and Hong Kong tax computations and filings.
- Assist in preparing financial-related information for inclusion in the Annual Report of the listed holding company, Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited.
- Review and post month-end closing entries and accounting transactions in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with financial policies, accounting standards and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Jardine Matheson’s reporting policies/requirements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Collaborate closely with the finance teams across the portfolio companies and providing coaching and support on financial reporting requirements when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement of finance operations by identifying, proposing, and implementing initiatives to enhance effectiveness and efficiency across the function.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, financial regulations and legislation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, with ACCA/HKICPA qualification or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of audit experience and an additional 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Experience in finance technology, such as CCH Tagetik and Microsoft Dynamics 365, is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications
- Able to manage multiple assignments, work under tight timelines and with multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills
- Good team player with good interpersonal skills
- Proactive, flexible and organised with attention to detail and able to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate professionally to both finance and non-finance teams
