We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Project Manager for a 6-month contract (or vendor secondment) to lead the end-to-end execution of our comprehensive website revamp. You will act as the critical bridge between internal business units (Fundraising and Communications, IT, Supporter Services & HK Programme & Advocacy) and the technical development team.

Since this is a fixed-term deployment, there is no ramp-up time; you must hit the ground running on day one, taking ownership of the project timeline, managing vendor deliverables, and ensuring the new site launches on time, within budget, and to our quality standards.

Principal Roles And Responsibilities

  • Timeline & Delivery Management: Own the master project schedule. Track milestones daily, identify potential bottlenecks early, and implement course corrections to keep the launch on track.
  • Vendor & Secondment Oversight: (If internal) Manage the website development vendor’s deliverables, ensuring compliance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA). (If seconded) Act as the primary conduit to your home agency to expedite technical resources and resolve blockers instantly.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate regular status meetings with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Design, Content, IT Security, and Executive leadership). Translate complex technical hurdles into clear, actionable business decisions.
  • Scope & Risk Management: Strictly manage scope creep. Evaluate change requests against the 6-month timeline and budget, managing a transparent risk register for technical or content dependencies.
  • UAT & Quality Assurance: Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across business units. Log, priorities, and track bugs/defects through to resolution with the development team.
  • Content Migration Oversight: Partner with the content and SEO teams to ensure existing assets are audited, migrated, and redirected accurately without losing organic search value.

Skills Required

  • Experience: Minimum 4–6 years of digital project management experience, with a proven track record of successfully launching complex website revamps within the last 2 years.
  • Technical Literacy: Solid understanding of modern web workflows: Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress, Drupal, or headless setups; UI/UX best practices; SEO principles; and basic web architecture. You don’t need to code, but you must speak the developers’ language.
  • Methodology: Strong proficiency in Agile/Scrum and Waterfall hybrid frameworks. Expert-level use of project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, or Monday.com).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation and conflict-resolution skills. You must be comfortable walking into an ongoing project and establishing immediate authority and trust.
  • Availability: Ability to commit fully to the entire 6-month duration of the contract with minimal planned leave.
  • What Will Make You Stand Out: – A Scrum Master or PMP certification. – Previous experience working inside a digital agency (highly valued if you are joining via secondment).
  • Experience handling complex third-party API integrations (e.g. CRM links, payment gateways, or ERP syncs) during a site rebuild.
