About The Role
As a
Human Resources Manager , you will play a hands-on and impactful role in supporting our colleagues and leaders—ensuring thoughtful HR practices, fair and compliant people management, and a positive colleague experience.
You will work closely with department heads to bring Shangri-La's people philosophy to life, balancing professionalism with empathy, and operational excellence with genuine care.
Key Responsibilities
People & Culture
- Support a caring, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture aligned with Shangri-La values and service from the heart
- Act as a trusted HR partner to leaders and colleagues, providing practical, people-centred guidance
- Support colleague engagement, recognition, and wellbeing initiatives that foster shared joy and belonging
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Manage daytoday employee relations matters, including counselling, disciplinary actions, grievances, and investigations, ensuring fairness, consistency, and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, MPF requirements, and statutory reporting
- Support consistent application of HR policies and local labour practices
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Manage recruitment and onboarding experiences that reflect Shangri-La's employer brand and welcoming culture
- Support learning and development initiatives, including leadership development, service culture, and functional training
- Encourage continuous learning and career growth across departments
HR Operations & Team Support
- Oversee core HR operations including contracts, confirmations, transfers, resignations, and employee records
- Prepare HR reports and manpower data to support workforce planning
- Guide and support HR Officers / Assistants to deliver professional, warm, and consistent HR service
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives that enhance the colleague experience
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- 5–7 years of solid HR experience , preferably in hospitality or a people intensive service environment
- Strong working knowledge of Hong Kong labour legislation and HR operations
- Handson experience in employee relations, recruitment, and HR administration
- A people oriented professional with empathy, sound judgement, and high integrity
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Good command of English and Chinese (Cantonese required; Putonghua an advantage)
- Candidate with more experience will be considered as Assistant Director of Human Resources
