About Our Client
Our client is a well-established Consumer Electronics brand with great market reputation and global presence. They are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and industrialisation of high‑volume consumer electronics products.
This role works closely with industrial design, electronics, quality, and manufacturing teams to deliver products that meet demanding performance, cosmetic, and reliability standards - from early concept through mass production.
Job Description
- Develop and own mechanical designs for consumer electronics products from concept through production
- Design and validate mechanical components including housings, assemblies, and structural parts
- Lead DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and design reviews to ensure robustness and manufacturability
- Work closely with industrial design to balance aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability
- Support prototype builds (EVT/DVT/PVT) and issue resolution during development and ramp‑up
- Collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure tooling, materials, and processes meet requirements
- Support design changes through controlled change processes
- Participate in failure analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure products meet relevant quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
The Successful Applicant
- Degree holder in Mechanical Engineering
- 5-8 years of Mechanical Engineer experience, ideally in consumer electronics industry
- Experience with DFMA principles and manufacturing constraints
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools
- Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills
- Highly fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
