The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

We design, build, and operate the technology that powers the Club. Our primary focus is on delivering the service that supports our hospitality, racing and wagering operations, to ensure that our customers and members enjoy exceptional experiences.

The Department
The Mainland China IT Department is responsible for building a new IT team within Chinese Mainland, designing and developing modern technology to offer an innovative and unmatched customer experience while staying close to operations, including our Conghua Racecourse, Club Houses, IT infrastructure, and new AI and digital developments. It is also responsible for formulating a strategy to partner with top-tier service providers in China and setting up an Innovation Center in China.
The Job
Finance
- Lead project and programme financial planning, including budget and forecast preparation
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance
- Prepare monthly financial reports on actuals, forecast and outlook
- Monitor and track programme financials, costs and commitments
- Monitor and report key finance KPIs to support leadership decision‑making
- Support leadership and governance meetings through the preparation of financial summaries and presentations
- Ensure compliance with agreed financial governance standards and internal controls
HR / Headcount Management
- Lead headcount planning and monitoring aligned with approved budgets
- Maintain accurate headcount records, including reconciliation of staff transfers and movements
- Monitor and analyse headcount budget vs. forecast vs. actuals
- Liaise with HR and hiring managers to ensure data accuracy and timely processing
Stakeholder & Programme Support
- Partner with Programme Managers, PMO and Delivery Teams to embed financial and workforce discipline
- Act as a key point of contact between Finance, HR and programme stakeholders
- Highlight risks, issues and improvement opportunities proactively
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial and headcount management processes
About You
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, HR or related discipline
- 8+ years’ relevant experience in financial planning, programme finance, assurance or similar roles
- Experience supporting large‑scale programmes or portfolios, preferably in an IT or transformation context
- Exposure to headcount planning, workforce costing or HR coordination
- Professional qualifications (e.g. CPA / CA) and/or project management certification are an advantage
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Close attention to detail with a hands‑on, proactive approach
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; reporting/dashboard tools are an advantage
