Duties
Applications are invited for the above vacancy in Metering Branch of Technical Services Department. Reporting to Engineer/Senior Supervisor, major duties of the appointee would include:
- Handle and resolve exceptions and issues related to the smart meter system and operations
- Review, prioritize, and address exceptions and abnormalities in meter readings and data
- Ensure proper meter connectivity and compile list of meters requiring retries or troubleshooting
- Review and analyze meter events and abnormalities reported by smart meters
- Analyze meter data and resolve inquiries and complaints related to meter readings and data
- Support the design and execution of user acceptance tests for system upgrades and enhancements aimed at improving operational efficiency
- Identify and resolve interface problems between the headend meter reading system and other relevant systems (MDMS/CCMS/Oracle)
- Implement firmware upgrades for meters or communication modules, including necessary preparation work and testing in the QA environment
Requirements
- A Higher Certificate / Higher Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronic / Electrical Engineering or Professional Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus minimum 1 year’s working experience OR Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronic / Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 3 years’ working experience
- Knowledge in data analytics and cyber security management would be an advantage
- Experience in IT systems enhancement, cybersecurity routines and metering project is preferrable
- Knowledge and experience in metering operations, SAP, Oracle and Power BI/ Power Automate / Python is preferable
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English
- Team player with good analytical mind and fast learning ability; flexible to take up ad-hoc duties
Candidates with less experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
