Structural Test Engineer

Boeing is seeking a dependable and adaptable Structural & Mechanical Testing Engineer to join our Test & Evaluation team in Tukwila. This engineer will play a vital role in our materials testing labs developing test plans, designing test hardware, and conducting materials tests to ensure that company products and services comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.

In this position, you will review customer requirements, develop test plan, and integrate test systems. You will have ownership of your test and be responsible for executing the testing by hands-on work with hardware as well as the computing systems controlling the test frames. You will review and validate test data, preparing and publishing detailed test reports. Additionally, you will conduct research in test technologies to improve efficiency and capability, while interfacing with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement effective test engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural and mechanical engineering, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A self-motivated individual with a sense of urgency and a commitment to taking ownership of projects will thrive in this role.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, procedures, and test equipment/software to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Design, develop, and integrate test systems to support testing activities.
  • Review and validate test data, ensuring accuracy and quality prior to delivery to customers.
  • Prepare and publish detailed test reports that summarize findings.
  • Research test technologies that enhance testing efficiency and capability.
  • Manage multiple projects while interfacing with project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement effective test engineering solutions.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and a sense of urgency, taking ownership of projects to drive successful outcomes.


Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in structural design, analysis, and/or testing.
  • Experience in pneumatic design, maintenance, and repair.
  • Experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, or a similar CAD program.
  • Experience with structural analysis and hand methods.


Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills

  • Experience in project management
  • Experience working a dynamic, multidisciplinary organization.


Pay Rate Range

48 - 53 USD hourly
