Position: Structural Design Engineer

Education

Experience

6–10 years of experience in structural design, preferably in the refrigeration (deep freezer) industry

Key Responsibilities

Design sheet metal, structural, and plastic components for deep freezers/coolers
Ensure proper fit, finish, and ease of assembly, considering manufacturing feasibility
Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams
Handle prototyping, validation, and continuous design improvements
Conduct field visits for issue analysis and product enhancement
Select suitable materials based on strength, durability, and cost
Optimize designs for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency
Prepare 2D/3D drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM)

PLM & Documentation

Work on PLM tools (e.g., Windchill) for part creation, BOM management, and product releases
Prepare and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
Maintain accurate BOM structure and updates in the PLM system
Handle design revisions, change control, and documentation traceability

Essential Skills

Proficiency in CREO and AutoCAD
Strong knowledge of sheet metal and plastic design
Understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, extrusion, forming, etc.)
Familiarity with Indian standards (BIS, ISI) and relevant international standards
Knowledge of refrigeration systems and related components
