Job Description
- Cloud Architecture & Provisioning: Architect and implement secure, high-availability AWS infrastructure for the Data Platform, including data ingestion pipelines, merchant platforms, and dataset catalogs.
- Pipeline Automation: Design, build, and optimize robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure zero-downtime deployments and consistent release cycles for frontend (React) and backend (Java/Go) services.
- Network & Security Management: Design secure VPC topologies, manage routing layers (NAT/PAT), configure precise security groups, and implement optimized L4/L7 load balancing for internal and external traffic.
- Kubernetes Operations: Operate and scale EKS clusters, managing deployments, daemonsets, ingress controllers, and ensuring optimal compute resource allocation.
- Observability & Incident Response: Build and maintain dashboards, set up proactive alerting rules, and lead troubleshooting efforts during production incidents or performance bottlenecks.
- Database & Event Streaming Support: Provision and scale operational data stores (PostgreSQL, NoSQL) and event streaming platforms (Kafka/MSK), working closely with developers to ensure data consistency and high throughput.
- Cost & Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor AWS resource utilization, implementing right-sizing, Spot Instances, and architecture adjustments to optimize cloud spend without sacrificing performance.
- Developer Productivity: Create CLI tools, internal documentation, and standardized development environments to streamline the local development-to-production lifecycle for the engineering team.
Requirements
- Cloud & Infrastructure Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering experience with a strong, deep focus on AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, MSK/Kafka).
- Advanced Networking: Deep understanding of network architecture. Must clearly distinguish between routing functions (e.g., NAT, PAT) and firewall responsibilities. Capable of architecting optimal L4 and L7 load balancing strategies, especially regarding connection handling and persistent connections.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in provisioning infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation. Strong adherence to GitOps workflows and immutable infrastructure principles.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS). Able to manage cluster auto-scaling, resource limits, and service mesh integrations.
- CI/CD Mastery: Proven ability to build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD) for rapid and reliable deployment of full-stack applications (React, Java, Go).
- Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go to automate routine operational tasks and tooling.
- Observability: Experience configuring comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, or CloudWatch.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced AWS Certifications are a strong plus, specifically AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (SAP-C02) or AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty (ANS-C01).
- Prior experience supporting high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines (Kafka) and optimizing infrastructure for Java and Go microservices ecosystems.
- Understanding of API monetization, security (WAF, DDoS mitigation), and data privacy/compliance standards.
