Sales Engineer

Job Summary**

As a Sales Engineer at Pepperl+Fuchs SE, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by providing technical expertise and support to customers, identifying their needs, and recommending appropriate solutions from our extensive product portfolio in industrial automation. You will act as a crucial link between our sales and engineering teams, ensuring customer satisfaction and maximizing sales opportunities.

Job Responsibilities**

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, understanding their technical requirements and business challenges.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions to showcase the value and capabilities of Pepperl+Fuchs solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify optimal product configurations and system solutions, providing detailed technical proposals and quotations.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting, application assistance, and training.
  • Work closely with the internal engineering and product management teams to relay customer feedback and contribute to product development and improvement.
  • Actively participate in trade shows, seminars, and industry events to promote Pepperl+Fuchs products and expand the customer base.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and contribute to sales strategies.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates for management.
  • Adhere to company sales processes and CRM system for accurate record-keeping and opportunity management.

Job Qualifications**

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in a technical sales or sales engineering role within the industrial automation, sensors, or factory automation industry.
  • Strong understanding of industrial sensors (e.g., inductive, capacitive, photoelectric, ultrasonic), intrinsic safety, fieldbus technologies, and explosion protection.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English; additional language skills (e.g., German) are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license.
