Cooling System Inspection: Oversee the installation of critical HVAC systems, including Chillers, CRAC/CRAH units (Computer Room Air Handler), Cooling Towers, and Chilled Water Piping.
Quality Control (QC): Ensure all mechanical works comply with approved Shop Drawings, project specifications, and international standards such as ASHRAE (specifically for Data Centers) and SMACNA.
Testing & Commissioning (T&C): Witness and verify critical mechanical tests, including Hydrostatic/Pneumatic pressure tests for piping, Duct Leakage Testing, and Air Balancing (TAB).
Fire Suppression Oversight: Inspect the installation of specialized fire protection systems for data halls, such as Pre-action Sprinklers or Clean Agent Gas Suppression (FM-200/Novec 1230).
BMS Integration: Monitor the installation of sensors and actuators to ensure the Building Management System (BMS) can accurately control and monitor the mechanical environment.
Defect Management: Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for any substandard mechanical work and manage the Punch List until all mechanical defects are rectified.
Material Inspection: Verify that all mechanical equipment and materials delivered to the site match the approved Material Submittals and data sheets.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (S1) or Diploma (D3) in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years as a Mechanical Inspector, with specific experience in HVAC for critical facilities (Data Centers, Clean Rooms, or Hospitals).
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of Chilled Water Systems, DX Systems, and Precision Cooling.
Familiarity with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and ducting layouts.
Knowledge of Data Center environmental requirements (Temperature/Humidity setpoints).
