ERP Technical Lead provides strategic technical leadership and governance for the implementation, configuration, and integration of major enterprise systems. This role ensures that all packaged solutions align with vendor standards to protect upgradeability and minimize customization risks while managing the end-to-end technical execution of complex enterprise-wide projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and govern the configuration, extension, and integration of enterprise packaged solutions.
- Act as the primary technical lead for the implementation of all packaged software products.
- Own the technical execution of system extensions, including user exits, enhancements, and APIs.
- Ensure all solutions follow vendor-recommended architecture to avoid high-risk or unnecessary customizations.
- Review and approve critical design decisions and evaluate trade-offs between configuration and customization.
- Coordinate closely with vendor consultants, system integrators, and internal infrastructure teams.
- Lead technical troubleshooting for performance issues, integration failures, and regression impacts.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation and a smooth handover to support teams to maintain system readiness.
- Protect the long-term upgradeability of systems by adhering strictly to vendor standards and roadmaps.
Requirements
- Total of 8 to 12 years of professional IT experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading the implementation of packaged or COTS solutions.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale or enterprise-wide ERP and packaged systems.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Tier 1 platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, or Oracle Fusion.
- Solid understanding of vendor-specific configuration frameworks and integration patterns like IDoc, OData, and REST.
- Experience managing custom objects and reports within vendor-defined limits.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms including API gateways, ESB, and middleware.
- Strong awareness of role-based access control (RBAC), segregation of duties, and licensing impacts.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on upgrade safety and long-term system stability.
- Willingness to work On-Site (WFO).
