Responsible for driving hotel revenue through proactive sales activities, account management, event coordination, and business development. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, achieving revenue targets, and ensuring seamless execution of events and group bookings while delivering exceptional guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and sales visits.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing corporate, government, travel trade, and event clients.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve departmental revenue targets.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities.
- Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and rate agreements to clients.
- Participate in sales calls, site inspections, trade shows, and networking events.
- Negotiate rates and contract terms while maximizing hotel profitability.
Account Management
- Manage and maintain a portfolio of key accounts.
- Ensure regular client engagement and follow-up to secure repeat business.
- Monitor account production and develop action plans to increase revenue.
- Maintain accurate client records and sales activities in the hotel's CRM system.
Events & Group Coordination
- Handle inquiries for meetings, conferences, social events, and group bookings.
- Coordinate event requirements between clients and hotel operational departments.
- Conduct site inspections and pre-event meetings with clients.
- Prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), contracts, and event documentation.
- Ensure all event details are communicated accurately and executed successfully.
- Follow up with clients after events to obtain feedback and future business opportunities.
Revenue Management
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Monitor market trends and recommend pricing strategies.
- Maximize room, banquet, catering, and ancillary revenue opportunities.
- Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and business performance updates.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate sales records and documentation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Support budgeting and business planning activities.
Leadership & Team Support (Applicable for Senior Sales Manager / Director of Sales)
- Lead, coach, and mentor sales team members.
- Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.
- Assist in developing annual sales and marketing plans.
- Drive team performance to achieve departmental objectives.
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure business success.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 1–8 years of experience in hotel sales, catering sales, events management, or related hospitality roles (depending on position level).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Results-oriented with a proven ability to achieve revenue targets.
