Decent Engineering Firm, but Hybrid WFH is Tough
Working here as a Civil Engineer for a few years, it's been an okay experience. The project work is genuinely interesting, but the company's push for a strict hybrid work model often feels out of sync with actual engineering work, especially when you have site visits.
You get to work on some really interesting infrastructure projects in Malaysia. There's good exposure to new engineering software and design methodologies. The pay is pretty solid for a Civil Engineer role, especially if you're early in your career.
The 'hybrid' work model here isn't very flexible for project-based roles. It's tough to consistently get those WFH days when you're a field engineer and need to be on site. There's a strong expectation to be in the Kuala Lumpur office even for tasks that could easily be done remotely.
Re-evaluate the hybrid policy for project-based engineering roles. Give teams and individual project managers more autonomy to decide WFH schedules based on project needs, not just a blanket corporate rule.
