Contraves, a collaborative joint venture between Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd and Rheinmetall Air Defence AG, is established to carry out advanced systems engineering, integration and manufacturing in high technology industrial, defence and aerospace applications. With a global focus, we are progressively developing in:
• Electronic Manufacturing Services, mainly export-oriented, which currently include assemblies in Printed Circuit Boards, RF Cables, LF Cables and electronic sub-assemblies.
• Naval Combat Management Systems comprising of the design, software engineering, integration and delivery of naval combat systems for ships ranging from patrol vessels with basic armament and navigation systems to Corvettes with complex missile, sensor and weapon systems.
• Engineering and Product Development with participation in the design and software engineering of mission systems for the A400M military airlifter and cargo loading systems for the A380 / A330 commercial airliners, and the manufacture of electro-optic systems for airborne, maritime and terrestrial applications.
• Training and Simulation Systems to ensure continuous knowledge enhancement through the establishment of a Combat Systems Training Centre, and a Real Time Simulator for Bridge and CIC training. Ongoing Engineering Support Services for installations, maintenance and repairs, specializing in radars and electro‐optics. With an extensive technology transfer program through offshore training, Contraves advances through diverse capability in these five core areas, and we are committed to generating long-term, sustainable growth in Malaysia. Contraves is headquartered in Cyberjaya, has its manufacturing facility in Malacca and repair/maintenance team in Lumut. The factory has more than 30 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing for European and US companies.
