Incorporated in 1996, Kawan Engineering Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Kawan Dynamic Engineering Sdn. Bhd.) has evolved from a general fabricator to a technology driven equipment and a reliable plant solutions provider.
Our products are ASME “U”, “H” and “S” & DOSH Malaysia Certified. We are licensed to design and construct and repair Heating Boiler, Unfired Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers by the Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia. We also have licensed contractor for LPG/LNG piping, accredited by the DOSH and Class “B” Contractor accredited by the Department of Electricity and Gas Supply (JBEG). This together with CIDB’s grade G7 certification ensures high competence in piping and site installation work.
Engineering design software such as PV-Elite, HTRI, AutoCAD®. AutoCAD® Plant 3D, Inventor are used to design vessel components and HTRI for Heat Exchanger design. Kawan and Aquaheat Pte. Ltd., New Zealand has entered a technical transfer program whereby intellectual properties and machinery of Aquaheat are acquired by us to fabricate thermal oil heater, hot water boiler, steam generator and pre-heater.
Aided by the certification of International Standard: ISO 9001 for the design, manufacturing and on-site commissioning of Pressure Vessel, Heat Exchanger System, Water & Waste Treatment and Process Equipment, we provide a wide range of quality engineering products and services to meet the needs of various industries.
We operate in two factories with total working area of approximately 9,000m2 and workshop capacity is 400 tanks or approximately 2,000 equivalent ton per year. We are also renowned for Automated Polishing of Plates and Dish Ends, Dish Ends Forming and Pressing, Orbital Welding, Plasma Welding and Automatic TIG Flange to Nozzle Welding.
Our Managing Director, Ir. Lim Thou Lai is registered as Professional Engineer by Board of Engineering, Malaysia. Besides, our project and fieldwork team are also qualified as Gas Tester, Supervisor for Confined Space and Site Safety Supervisor by NIOSH. On the other hand, our Quality Inspectors are also qualified as CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector, CSWIP 3.0 Visual Welding Inspector. Besides, they are qualified to perform NDT Level II in Dye Penetration Test, ASNT Level II in Radiography Film Interpretation Test, ASNT Level II in Liquid Penetrant Test and ASNT Level II in Magnetic Particle Test.
With our engineering crew of approximately 50 experienced and dynamic personnel, we customize design, fabricate, install and commission plants or systems. Our annual sales turnover is about RM60 million per annum. Our products and services are now running in countries like Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Germany etc.
