Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all project works are conducted in compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Responsible for all the requirements and documents required by Occupational Health & Safety Department.
- Has specific knowledge on OSH legislations, occupational risk assessment, preparation of safe operating procedure, monitoring the effectiveness of control measures, encouraging worker’s participation and continuously improving to ensure sustained compliance to OSH law.
- Compile safety programs, practice safe working techniques, implement and maintain health and safety standards.
- Supervises day-to-day activities within a construction workplace.
- Conducting regular inspections to make sure everything is as it should be, which will involve looking for and rectifying any hazards (i.e., Unsafe conditions at the construction site).
- Checking of sub-contractors work to ensure compliance with the established act and regulations.
- Entails checking to know if the workers within the site are making use of proper protective equipment required for each work unit, and make sure that they (the workers) fully understand how to use certain tools and equipment.
- Determine the primary cause(s) of work-related accident and draws up recommendations that should be adhered to avoid the recurrence of such accident(s).
- Arranges training programs on safety measures within the workplace.
- Receives and acts on reports regarding safety concerns from workers within the construction site/workplace.
- Introduces measures that will help curb accidents within the workplace.
- Make sure there is a safety programme/routine in place so that everyone knows the precautions and actions to take in case of an accident.
- Attend site meetings as required.
- Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time by the management.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must possesses at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
- Candidate must be a registered Safety & Health Officer with the Occupational Safety & Health Department (DOSH) with valid GREEN BOOK.
- Experienced in industrial project will be added advantage.
- Required language(s): Mandarin, English, Bahasa Malaysia. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
- Competent and well-versed with the latest Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Candidate must have ability to maintain effective work relationships and good organization skills.
- Able to work under high pressure work environment.
- Applicants must be able to work 6 days in a week.
