About the Opportunity

I'm partnering with an innovative technology company based in Adelaide that is looking to add an experienced FPGA / Embedded Software Engineer to its growing engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of advanced embedded systems, FPGA solutions and real-time software used in sophisticated electronic products. You'll play a key role throughout the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, release and ongoing product support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog.
  • Develop embedded software in C/C++ for hardware platforms.
  • Integrate hardware and software across complex embedded systems.
  • Carry out simulation, verification and validation activities.
  • Support new product development from concept through to production.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware and embedded software issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 3-6 years' commercial experience in FPGA and/or embedded software development.
  • Strong FPGA development experience using VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
  • A solid understanding of digital design, signal processing and real-time embedded systems.
  • Experience implementing Linux drivers and network stacks for FPGA-based systems.
  • Exposure to Embedded Linux, RTOS, firmware development, or experience within regulated industries such as medical devices, defence or aerospace will be highly regarded.
