We are a lean, high-impact team where engineers work directly on cutting-edge AI products serving enterprise clients across Malaysia and the region.
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise robust data pipelines that drive business decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimise data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and quality throughout all systems.
- Collaborate with Product, Business, and Analytics teams to resolve data-related issues and support data transformation requirements.
- Utilise workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow for orchestration.
- Work with cloud-based data services, particularly on Google Cloud Platform.
- Support and maintain containerised environments using Kubernetes.
- Manage code versioning and collaboration using GitLab or GitHub, and contribute to documentation and code reviews.
- Leverage productivity and collaboration tools such as G Suite, Jira, and Confluence.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in IT, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience beyond first degree.
- Strong hands-on experience in Python.
- Experience in ETL/ELT development and data pipeline creation.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform and its data services.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Experience with GitLab or GitHub for code versioning and collaboration.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Good understanding of distributed computing principles.
- Working knowledge of productivity and collaboration tools such as G Suite, Jira, and Confluence.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with messaging and stream processing tools.
- Familiarity with big data tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of code review and technical documentation practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to balance speed, reliability, and interpretability.
- Openness to experimenting with new techniques and new ways of working.
Education
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in IT, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
