The Junior Cloud Engineer will play a key role in supporting the development and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure. The engineer will be responsible for assisting in the deployment, monitoring, and optimization of cloud-based solutions, ensuring they meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, management, and maintenance of cloud platforms and environments
- Support deployment of cloud resources including Virtual Machines, App Services, and databases
- Perform basic monitoring of cloud systems and escalate issues when required
- Assist in implementing security controls, governance processes, and compliance checks
- Support basic networking configuration in cloud environments (e.g., VNET, subnets, NSG rules)
- Help troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application-related issues under guidance
- Provide basic support for office IT infrastructure, including configuring and troubleshooting printers, setting up and maintaining office WiFi networks, and supporting end-user devices and connectivity issues
- Utilize modern tools (including AI-assisted tools) to improve productivity, troubleshooting, and documentation
- Participate in system improvements, automation tasks, and documentation
- Assist in backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) processes
- Collaborate with team members and learn best practices in cloud operations
Requirements
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (preferably Azure or AWS)
- Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing, DNS, routing fundamentals, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, Firewalls, Network Security Groups (NSG), and basic security concepts
- Ability to set up basic network configurations, such as Virtual Networks (VNET) and subnets, NSG rules and access control, and basic connectivity troubleshooting (ping, ports, DNS resolution)
- Basic knowledge of office IT setup, including printer configuration and troubleshooting, WiFi/router setup and basic network configuration, and end-user device support (Windows/Mac)
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux environments
- Exposure to cloud services such as VM, storage, or App Services is an advantage
- Basic troubleshooting skills in infrastructure, networking, and end-user environments
- Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) for productivity and troubleshooting, with the ability to validate and verify outputs independently, apply critical thinking rather than relying solely on generated responses, and use AI as a support tool, not a replacement for fundamental knowledge
- Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve

Preferred Skills
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience (internship or fresh graduates are encouraged)
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
- Exposure to cloud security or monitoring tools
- Understanding of DevOps concepts (CI/CD, Git)
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in cloud technologies
