About This Opportunity

Tune Protect Group Berhad is looking for a Data Platform Architect to lead its data transformation journey.

In this role, you will design and build a central data platform that supports reporting, analytics, and future AI use cases. Working across business and technology teams, you will play a critical role in establishing a scalable data ecosystem and embedding best practices in data engineering, governance, and architecture.

This is a high-impact role with opportunities to influence data strategy, shape platform direction, and build capabilities that support long-term business growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement a scalable enterprise data platform (e.g. Snowflake, Azure, Databricks)
  • Build unified data models across key domains such as Customer, Sales, and Claims
  • Develop and manage data pipelines (ETL/ELT) from multiple internal and external systems
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and security across the platform
  • Enable and support Power BI datasets and self-service reporting capabilities
  • Structure and prepare data for AI and advanced analytics use cases (e.g. fraud detection, customer insights)
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions
  • Guide and mentor the BI team in building reusable, scalable data products
  • Drive best practices in data architecture, engineering, and governance

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or data platform development
  • Strong experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Azure, Databricks)
  • Advanced SQL and strong data modelling expertise (dimensional, star schema, etc.)
  • Proven experience building and managing data pipelines and integrations
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or similar platforms
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and architecture principles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry
  • Familiarity with AI/ML data preparation or supporting data science workflows
  • Hands-on experience with modern data tools (e.g. dbt, Airflow, Kafka)
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Experience designing data lakes or lakehouse architectures
  • Exposure to API integrations and real-time/streaming data pipelines
