Work-life balance is a real juggle

Working here has its ups and downs, especially with client projects. As a Business Analyst, you learn a lot, but be ready for some busy periods.

Pros

There's some flexibility for personal appointments, which is nice. You can sometimes manage your own schedule around less demanding business solutions client projects. The team support in the Kuala Lumpur office helps a lot too.

Cons

Long hours are common, especially when client deadlines hit hard. It's tough to maintain a consistent 40-hour week. You often feel the pressure in this mid-sized firm to go above and beyond for every deliverable.

Advice to Management

Try to manage client expectations better so project teams don't get burnt out. Support a healthier work-life culture across all business solutions roles. Investing more in automation could also ease the burden on individual contributors.

Leadership's okay, but communication needs work
Pros: The managers on my team were generally decent. They supported our hybrid work setup, which was great for work-life balance in Kuala Lumpur. As a Business Analyst, I appreciated having ownership over my projects.
Cons: Sometimes, top leadership felt a bit out of touch. Communication about company direction was often unclear, which made planning for new IT solutions tough. It's hard to feel fully engaged when strategic shifts happen without much warning.
Advice to Management: Senior leadership needs to improve consistent communication. More transparency on strategic decisions would help everyone, especially for project-based roles.
