Work-Life Balance is Fine for Software Development

It's decent here, but don't expect a super chill vibe all the time. As a Junior Software Engineer, I felt the pressure.

Pros

You get a good amount of PTO, which really helps balance things. Sometimes you can work from home too, which is a big plus. For software development roles, it's pretty standard.

Cons

Expect some longer hours, especially when project deadlines hit. On-call rotations can really mess with your evenings and weekends. There's not always much flexibility in the Austin, TX office.

Advice to Management

Try to manage project scope better to reduce crunch times. More predictability in schedules would really help everyone.

Decent Job Security, But Watch Your Back
Pros: The client retention for their IT services is pretty solid. It feels stable enough for a mid-sized tech company. As a Software Engineer, I didn't worry about mass layoffs.
Cons: Growth isn't always smooth sailing here. They don't always have a clear pipeline for new projects. There's some concern about project-based roles ending without a new one lined up, especially in the San Francisco office.
Advice to Management: Try to provide more transparency on future project pipeline. It would help a lot with employee morale and retention.
