Culture is a mixed bag here

Overall, Modularity Home has a lot of potential in the prefabricated housing market, but the internal culture needs some real work. As a Design Assistant, I felt my direct team was good, but the broader company feel was lacking.

Pros

It's cool working in the modular home construction space; the mission is interesting. My team, especially as a Design Assistant, is super supportive. We even get solid health benefits for a smaller company.

Cons

The company culture can feel pretty cliquey sometimes. It's tough to break into established groups. There aren't many company-wide social events, so people just stick to their own circles.

Advice to Management

Focus on creating a more inclusive company culture. Organize more regular, low-pressure team-building activities. Transparent communication from leadership about company goals and changes would also go a long way in fostering trust and a better environment across all roles, especially in our Austin, TX office.

Leadership Team Needs Better Vision
Pros: I actually liked my team members; they were all dedicated. The work itself in modular construction is interesting, seeing the homes come together. There's a solid benefits package for an onsite role, which is a plus.
Cons: The leadership here doesn't really listen to feedback from the floor. As a Production Supervisor, you often feel like you're just executing without input. Communication from upper management in the Raleigh, NC office is pretty inconsistent, making it tough to plan effectively for our teams.
Advice to Management: Really try to engage with team leads and supervisors on the ground. Their insights are valuable for improving our prefabricated housing processes. Work on clearer, more consistent communication channels from the top down.
