Leadership Is Okay, Needs More Clear Direction

It's been a mixed bag at Flexicon Solution Inc. for me as a Software Engineer. The local teams are generally good, but I've found upper leadership struggles with consistent direction in software development. There's potential for this mid-sized tech company if they can really improve communication and vision, especially within the San Francisco office.

Pros

Some senior managers are great mentors here. I've seen good support for individual growth, especially for Software Engineers. The mid-sized tech company vibe is generally collaborative among peers.

Cons

Upper leadership can be a bit disconnected from daily software development work. Decisions sometimes feel rushed or unclear, making project planning tough. Communication often breaks down in the San Francisco office.

Advice to Management

Try to be more present with the engineering teams. Give clearer strategic goals so we know where projects are heading. Listen to feedback from your San Francisco office employees.

Pay is okay, but benefits could be better.
Pros: The base salary is pretty competitive for an entry-level Software Engineer in Austin, TX. They offer a decent 401k match; that's a plus. You always get paid on time here, which is important.
Cons: Health insurance premiums are pretty high for a mid-sized IT services firm. Doesn't feel like there's much room for big salary bumps after a while. Stock options or performance bonuses aren't really a thing for most roles in the tech industry here.
Advice to Management: Please review the overall compensation package, especially health benefits. It's tough to attract and retain top talent in the competitive Austin tech market with the current offerings.
