Okay balance for entry-level healthcare role

Work-life balance as a Customer Service Representative here is decent, but it really depends on your team. It's a busy healthcare corporation, so expect some demanding days, especially during peak season for HMO services.

Pros

The pay for healthcare benefits coordination is pretty solid for the industry in Makati City. You get decent health insurance benefits yourself. Some teams really stick to 40-hour weeks, which is good.

Cons

Other teams are constantly doing overtime, which impacts work-life balance a lot. It's tough to get time off during busy periods, even for important stuff. The daily onsite work model can be a grind with traffic.

Advice to Management

Try to standardize workloads across all Customer Service teams. Give supervisors more leeway to approve time off, especially for long-term employees. Look into more flexible options than just onsite work for certain roles, it would help employee retention.

Decent Start, Slow Climb for Career Growth
Pros: It's a stable job in the Philippine healthcare industry. Good for new grads as a Claims Specialist to learn the ropes. The corporate environment in the Makati City office is generally professional.
Cons: Career growth is pretty slow, especially for long-term employees. There aren't many opportunities for promotion or moving up. You really have to fight for new roles if you want to advance.
Advice to Management: Management should create clearer career paths and invest more in employee development and internal promotions.

Okay for a big corporate, but expect busy days
Pros: The team in the Makati City office is usually supportive, which helps when things get hectic. We get solid HMO benefits, which is a big plus for a healthcare industry company. There's also decent paid time off if you plan ahead.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough for Claims Processor roles, especially during peak season. You often work over 40 hour weeks, sometimes 50, to hit targets. It's mostly onsite work too, so remote options are rare.
Advice to Management: Look into better staffing for Claims Processor teams to reduce overtime. Offer more flexibility, even hybrid, where possible.

Decent starting pay in healthcare
Pros: As a Member Services Representative, the entry-level salary here in the Manila office is actually pretty competitive. They're good about paying on time, which is a big deal for anyone in the healthcare industry.
Cons: The health benefits package, for a healthcare company, feels a little basic. Don't expect huge annual bonuses or rapid pay increases once you've been here a while; it's tough to climb fast in these corporate roles.
Advice to Management: Consider updating the benefits package to be more competitive, especially the health plan. Offering better long-term incentives could really help with employee retention in the healthcare sector.
