Good for Learning, But Job Security Can Be Tricky
Working at Versent as a Cloud Engineer in the Sydney office was pretty solid for learning new tech. The project work kept things interesting for a while. It's a typical fast-paced tech consultancy environment.
I loved the constant exposure to different tech stacks, especially AWS and Azure. As a Cloud Engineer, there's a lot of opportunity to grow your skills in IT consulting. The team in the Sydney office was usually really collaborative too.
Job security felt a bit shaky at times, especially when projects ended or shifted. For cloud consulting roles, you're only as secure as the next big client engagement. There weren't always clear internal roles if a project wrapped up, which was tough.
Try to create more internal 'bench' roles or a clearer path for employees between cloud projects. Better communication about project pipeline stability would help a lot with job security concerns.
