Decent stability, but pay could be better.

Honestly, working here felt pretty stable as a technical consultant, but I wouldn't call the pay great.

Pros

The health insurance was definitely solid for an IT consulting firm. As a remote Software Engineer, the WFH setup helped save a lot on daily expenses too. A standard 401k match is available, which is fine.

Cons

The base salary for software development roles just isn't that competitive in today's tech industry. You can't expect big pay raises yearly either, which was a bummer. The benefits package is alright, but it's not a reason to join.

Advice to Management

Look at market rates for comparable software development roles, especially for remote positions. Better compensation would attract and retain more talent.

Decent place for skills, but security is shaky
Pros: I really liked getting to work on different projects as a Software Engineer. It's cool for building up a diverse skill set in the IT consulting world. Plus, the remote work option was a big plus for my work-life balance.
Cons: The downside is definitely job security. When a client project ends, you're basically waiting for the next one. It feels a bit like contract-to-hire, and there's not much assurance for a long-term role. It can be stressful if you're not into constant change.
Advice to Management: Management should try to secure more evergreen projects or create some internal initiatives to keep people busy between client gigs. It'd make people feel way more secure.

Okay experience for remote Software Engineer roles
Pros: It's nice to work remote from home; I appreciate the WFH flexibility. As a Software Engineer, I got to work on diverse client projects, which was good for my resume. The project variety in IT consulting keeps things interesting.
Cons: Company culture feels a bit lacking when you're always remote. It's tough to build real connections with teammates without an in-office presence. Sometimes the focus is too much on billable hours, not internal team bonding.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more virtual team-building activities or optional in-person meetups. It would help improve the sense of community for remote employees.

Solid balance for an IT consulting firm
Pros: I generally hit about 40 hours a week as a Software Engineer. The remote setup really helps my work-life balance. I appreciate the flexibility it offers for my personal life.
Cons: Sometimes, client projects demand super long hours without much warning. It can be tough when deadlines suddenly shift. Career progression isn't always clear outside of project work.
Advice to Management: Work on more predictable project scheduling to avoid burnout. Improve internal growth paths for engineering talent.
