Okay flexibility for a tech company
It's a pretty standard tech company experience in Hanoi. Work flexibility isn't bad, but it could definitely be better. You get some leeway, but not full freedom.
I appreciated the hybrid model they had. For a Software Engineer, getting to work from home a couple of days a week really helps with commuting in Hanoi traffic. The tech company culture here generally supports some personal time.
Full remote work isn't really an option, which is tough. Sometimes, even with the hybrid setup, managers expect you in the office more often than planned for meetings. It can feel a bit restrictive for an EdTech company.
Consider offering more remote work options, especially for experienced engineering roles. It would attract more top talent in the competitive Hanoi tech market.
