Decent flexibility for a growing startup
Haystack offers a reasonable level of work flexibility, especially compared to some other Bay Area tech companies. The hybrid setup is a definite plus, though it's not without its limits.
I've found the hybrid model pretty solid for my schedule. As a Product Designer, I can usually work from home a couple of days a week, which helps avoid the San Francisco commute. It's great for personal appointments and managing errands without hassle.
However, it's not totally flexible, especially when project deadlines hit for this fast-paced startup. Sometimes, you're expected in the office more often for crucial meetings, making truly remote work tough. Can feel a bit inconsistent depending on your team's lead.
Try to standardize the hybrid policy across teams. It would help everyone, especially individual contributors, know what to expect. More consistent remote options would be a huge plus for employee morale.
