Pay is just okay, benefits are solid here

It's a huge company with pretty good benefits, but honestly, the pay for technical roles could be better.


Pros

The health benefits package is pretty solid for a big corporate company. There's good dental and vision coverage, which is a plus for families. You get decent vacation time, especially as a Software Engineer.


Cons

Base salary for 5G development roles isn't competitive, especially in the Plano, TX area. Annual raises are really small, it's tough to keep up with inflation. Bonuses feel inconsistent and often tied to really vague metrics.


Advice to Management

Seriously re-evaluate the compensation structure for engineers. It's tough to attract and retain top talent when other companies offer much more competitive salaries for similar telecom industry roles.

Pros: My immediate team leads are often pretty solid. They really support us as Software Engineers in our daily tasks and career growth. The company is stable within the telecom industry, which is a big plus for job security.
