Okay Work-Life, Typical Big Bank Grind
Working at HSBC as an Associate Financial Analyst was a learning curve. It's a big corporate bank, so you know what you're getting into. The work-life balance is okay, but definitely leans towards more work.
The benefits package is solid for financial services, especially health insurance. I got to learn a ton about global banking operations. The hybrid model in the New York office was good for some flexibility.
Expect long hours, especially during reporting cycles. As an Associate Financial Analyst, the workload can be heavy. It's tough to really switch off when you're always on call for projects.
Management should really look at staffing levels to reduce burnout for finance roles. A bit more support could make a huge difference in employee well-being.
