Warehouse Associate

Okay job security for warehouse roles.

Working at Addiction Pet Foods as a Warehouse Associate had its ups and downs. The daily tasks were pretty standard for manufacturing operations. My main concern was always how stable my hours would be, especially outside peak demand for pet food products. It's a decent place, but not always super stable.

Pros

As a Warehouse Associate, job security is decent for most of the year. There's pretty steady work in the pet food industry here in Lincoln, NE. It's a mid-sized company, so you're not just a number, which is good.

Cons

Job security can feel a bit shaky during slower seasons, especially around the end of the year. They do sometimes have layoffs, particularly for newer hires in production roles, which isn't great. If demand for specific pet food products drops, your hours can definitely get cut.

Advice to Management

Try to provide more consistent hours year-round for the manufacturing and warehouse staff. It would really help with employee morale and retention for your production team. Maybe explore cross-training to keep staff busy during off-peak times rather than cutting hours.

Production Associate

Okay Experience, but Job Security is a Concern
Pros: I learned a lot about pet food manufacturing processes and ingredient handling. The team in the Omaha, NE plant was generally supportive and we worked well together. For an entry-level Production Associate, it's a good place to start getting hands-on experience.
Cons: Job security is a real issue here; it feels like there's always talk of restructuring or production shifts. I've seen too many good people laid off, which creates a lot of anxiety for manufacturing roles. Upper management doesn't always communicate clearly about the company's future.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to be more upfront about the company's financial standing and long-term strategy. Better communication would go a long way in calming job security fears among employees, especially those in production.
