The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Environment Officer (Fixed Term 1 year), who will:
- Provide active assistance in impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the organization’s environmental risks and impacts and recommend corrective actions related to Biodiversity References Ecosystem.
- Ensure Didipio Mine environmental management practices aligns with OGC environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Key tasks and resonsibilitities:
- Timely Submission of report per activity.
- Establishment of a 2 kilometer Transect line and 2 hectares permanent monitoring plot
- Proactive reporting on environmental incidents
- Active participation in inspections, audits, and environmental programs
- Demonstrate OGPI values in day-to-day activities
- Effective and efficient utilization of the budget leads to successful completion of planned activities.
- Proper documentation, filing, monitoring, and control of environmental-related records.
- Proactive identification of non-conformities to ISO 14001 within Laboratory and Monitoring team areas
